Another Italian pizzeria I hear you ask? Of course, there will never be enough pizza in this world, let alone London. Gioia is a neighbourhood pizzeria serving slow-fermented sourdough pizzas, craft beers, classic wines and southern Italian delicacies. Founded by a team of four people originally from Calabria, a rugged region at the tip of the Italian boot, we want to champion the generosity, humbleness and frugality typical of our motherland, and celebrate our genuine passion for good food and drinks.
Despite the frenzy of the fast-paced world we live in, we all know that good things still take time to make. Did you know that all our pizzas rise slowly for 72 hours?Time is the secret ingredient that gives them a great depth of flavour, the signature crunch and that unbelievable lightness. Think of all the things you normally do in 72 hours. We do one thing, perfectly.
The stone oven is the beating heart of our restaurant and preparation takes place in the open-air kitchen, so that you can fully experience the the art of pizza making from the oven to your table.
The name Gioia is Italian for “joy”, a warm and cheerful word that sums up our love for pizza and the pleasure of eating together, the Italian way. Eating with joy means sharing honest food with loved ones and strangers alike, caring for your guests, allowing time for conviviality and table talks while the world goes by.
